Ruak made the remarks from the Preisdential Palace in Dili on Thursday where he told media that the incomplete membership of the government greatly affected the implementation of the government’s program.
It has been almost six months since the President of the Republic Francisco Lu Olo Guterres refused eight of the givernmnet’s nominated ministers, including the finance and defence minister, and three vice –ministers because of their involvement in corruption invetsigations.
The Deputy President of National Parliament, Angelica Sarmento, said parliament had “not received any information about prosepective government members to date.”
The President has repeatedly called for replacement nominations while the government has stood firm
"I believe that in the near future we will soon overcome this problem," said Prime Minister Taur Matan at Presidential Palace in Aitarak Laran on Thursday.
He said the incomplete membership of the government greatly affected the implementation of the government program, therefore we would look for alternative solutions before the 2019 State Annual Budget debate (OJE 2019).
9 candidates who have not been sworn in by the President of the Republic, from the CNRT party 7 people, and the KHUNTO 2 people, until now have not been sworn in, and the National Parliament has not received any information.
"We have not received any information about prospective government members to date," said NPs Deputy President Angelica Sarmento in NPs on Thursday.
In the same place the Chairman of the CNRT Party Faction Duarte Nunes said that of the 9 candidate members of the Government who had not been appointed by the Republican President 7 of them were from the CNRT party but we had handed it over to the Prime Minister to immediately find a solution.
"As a Party we keep our people," he said. He said there was no fundamental reason to replace them.
