The source, who did not want to be named, said during the meeting, that marked almost 12 months since the Alliance for Change and Progress (AMP) government had been elected to power, the performance of cabinet members would be evaluated.
While the source would not comment on who may be reshuffled, it has been confirmed that some member’s performance is considered unsatisfactory.
The comments come as rumours of a new 39-member government structure that includes Xanana Gusmao, Mari Alkatri and Jose Ramos-Horta and no members from youth party Khunto, circulate on social media this week.
In a media interview on Tuesday, Duarte Nunes Chairman of the CNRT party said the rumoured new government was “fake news.”
He said coalition party members worked together, and that any new decisions about the government structure would be “jointly decided” by all parties.
Commentators close to Dili have said the central committee of opposition Fretilin party will also meet this week to evaluate the performance of its members and discuss a new party strategy.
