In what it called good “collaboration”, spokesperson for CIGC Dr Odete Viegas, said it was vital people continued to monitor their health and report immediately to health authorities if they felt any symptoms of the virus. Primary symptoms of the respiratory virus include fever, tiredness and a dry cough.
Dr Viegas also said recovered patients should closely monitor their health for any signs of reinfection.
On 25 April, the World Health Organisation (WHO) said there was currently “no evidence” that people who have recovered from COVID-19 and have antibodies are protected from a second coronavirus infection.
The WHO said it continued to review the evidence on antibody response to the virus, which emerged in Timor-Leste early April.
Some 24 people have been infected in the country, with 20 recoveries.
Across the country 2067 people have now completed 14-day mandatory quarantine, Dr Viegas said.
Citizens are urged to continue social distancing practices of one metre, wash hands thoroughly and regularly and wear a face mask outside their home.
