Police will be spread across the country and stationed at its 690 polling stations to ensure a peaceful election process, Costa said on Tuesday.
“At polling stations where there is a potential for emerging conflict we will allocate more members of police to strengthen the security,” he said.
The Commissioner said police members would be supported by a special security taskforce.
Timor-Leste is set to go the polls on March 20 for the Presidential election. Nearly 750,000 Timorese are registered vote.
