Ruak described the implementation of just 21 of the 240 signed Memorandum of Understandings as a “sad” reality, and accused ambassadors and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of misleading their activities.
“The ambassadors have reported to the President about the Memorandum of Understandings which are pending by the government of Timor-Leste showing they have signed documents but there is no implementation,” Ruak said in a speech at the Presidential Palace in Dili on Friday.
Ruak said he had called for follow-up on the MOU progress but found the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade had no record of the signed agreements.
He called on the government to submit a report outlining international MOU implementation in 2016.
